So last night, Christian won. Was that a surprise to anyone? The kid (he’s only 21) really does have talent, even though I wonder at some of his work. All in all, this season of PR has been very entertaining, if somewhat lackluster in the villain department.
This season, there were some snippage and snappage, but nothing I would call a fight. There was no Santino, no Laura, just Christian again providing some snarky comments on his fellow competitors. He did coin the key phrase of the season “Fierce”, which I can do without ( too reminescent of Paris Hilton’s “That’s Hot” *shudder*).
The show did have it’s share of “interesting” performers. Sweet P, the tattooed, with a biker chick exterior, yet with a Mrs. Cleaver persona. She’s very good at releasing the waterworks.
Speaking of waterworks, I don’t think I’ve seen that much crying on any other show before. I am of course speaking about Ricky. What the hell is wrong with that guy? Just about everything and anything sets the guy off. After a while, when he was still on, we’d place bets on just how many times he was going to start bawling in each episode. I just don’t get it. Orange…boo hoo!! Spandex…boo hoo!! Boo hoo!! Argh!!
Oh yeah, of course there was Chris and Elisa. Oy! Those two! I’ve never seen that large of a Wonder Woman in drag before. But hey, coining Christian’s term, that’s “fierce”. And that laugh, yowsers! And Elisa, truthfully, which planet did she come from? I lost on the bet on just how early she was going to be leaving. Yet she stayed and stayed. But she was good, in her own right. Just not sure about spit marking though, now that was something I’ve never seen nor heard before.
As for the judges, both Micheal Kors and Nina Garcia were very lackluster this season. I think without the infighting amongst the cast, these two judges had nothing to feed upon. Their comments and critiques therefore were very light. I wonder if it isn’t time for some new judges.
And of course, there’s Tim Gunn and Heidi. These two really do symbolize Project Runway. Tim is the father figure. His remarks are really spot on, upon foreshadowing what the judges would be picking on prior to the runway. Many of the contestants lasted longer than they should because they listened to Tim and altered their designs. Tim is really the inner voice, the angel on has sitting upon one’s shoulder. Can’t say anything bad about him, he is an all around nice guy.
Then there’s Heidi. Now her bite hasn’t dimmed at all throughout the seasons. She calls it like she sees them. During the reunion episode, she said Victorya was uptight right to her face. It is her show after all. I caught the Victoria Secret Special where Heidi was the main angel, and wow, there’s a reason why Heidi deserves to be on the air and in the media. Just maybe, Heidi should stay away from the mic a bit. Leave that to her husband.
In all, this season has been fun. I think it really was about the clothes this time. And I think the best person did win. It’s going to be months before the next season begins, and I hope there will be a whole lot more infighting, cause it’s fun to watch. But at least BRAVO isn’t leaving the viewers emptyhanded. Next week Top Chef is coming back and I know Work Out will be coming in too.
FIERCE!
