Big Torchwood fan here, not really a Doctor Who fan though. Just watched episodes 5 and 6 of Season 2 and they were very good! But I want to throw out some “maybes and stuff” and may end up spoiling your viewing.
THEREFORE…DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!
That being said, here we go….
Like I said, just watched episodes 5 and 6. (Thanks Carl!!)
Something major happens to one of the cast members. Something so definitive, that so far, only one other member of the team seems to have been able to recouperate from. Therefore what happens to this unfortunate soul?
Well based on brief shots of next week’s episode, the whole team is pretty shook up and some slicing and dicing appears to be in progress. So the question is, are we now going to be short one member?
The show swapped one character for another in the first episode of Season 1, cause now we have Gwen. So a precedent has been set. Yet looking at the dynamics of the team, I don’t see this as a definite change. Here’s what I mean.
1) We would be short of some one on the team being familiar with medicine. No sarcastic witty banter, autopsies, healing, patching, womanizing…the whole deal.
2)The team would be practically all “women”. You’ll understand if you watch.
3)Where would Tosh’s yearnings turn to?

Owen Harper (Burn Gorman)
believes he needs absolution
A victim of his new-found circumstances, Owen Harper believes he needs absolution, as Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies’s award-winning drama continues. Will the lonely girl on the rooftop help him, or will it be a mission to retrieve an alien device that is proving more lethal by the second? And how far will Toshiko go to help him?
So he’ll be back, but based on what was written, he won’t be “back” in the same way. My guess, he’ll be in a state of limbo, going over his sins and wrongdoings…yada yada…and somehow the team will bring him back. Most likely changed, for better or worse (that’s to be seen).
I want to say it would be safe to bet that Owen will be back. But there’s always the chance that he won’t. So I’m looking forward to the upcoming episodes and finding out like the rest of you.
Again, I warned you about reading this. Don’t kill the messenger, blame your own curiosity. Remember “curiosity killed the cat”.
